Nancy's first hardcover publication, written with Barbara Nielson, focuses on the gardening aspects of attracting hummingbirds. Broken into sections by geographic part of the country, the book gives examples of the plants suitable for those environments and draws upon the knowledge of hummingbird enthusiasts across the country. This book remained in print in hardcover for ten years - emphasizing the demand for quality information about attracting hummingbirds. |

Nancy's first book, long out of print, was produced in 1993 for the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries as part of its Louisiana Natural Heritage Program. The book covers the basics of Louisiana hummingbirds, including brief accounts of the species then known to occur in the state. In 2009, Nancy extensively revised and expanded the book for BTNEP, which published the revised work (see above). Old versions of this book can still be found occasionally at used book sales and stores, but some sections, particularly those on the occurrences of the various species, are long out of date. |
